We all have those purses for specific scenarios- the hobo bag for casual, big enough to contain all our overflowing necessities while shopping on Saturdays, the tote, more sophisticated in its structure and an ideal for business given its transferability to a feminine briefcase, and of course the wristlet, hanging conveniently to allow us the freedom that a night dancing requires. Then, every once in a while, our scenarios specify into particular occasions, and whether these occasions are black tie galas or pastel summer weddings, finding just the right evening bag can be an impossibility. One wants something classic that could be used past that one event, but so many bags are just too plain. Then others go too far, darning so much beading and glam that an enormous satin bow the size of the purse itself could even be considered its understatement. A more profound option would be Yves Saint Laurent’s Minaudiere Satin Clutch for $1,395. Though it comes at a steep price for a bag so small, it is perfection at its most exquisite, adding the plus of its form resembling an envelope, and given the beauty of its writing, an envelope that could contain nothing less than a love letter. Tucked under any woman’s hand at a dress occasion, a pristine sense of fashion and a personality of elegance are the only things that these evening clutches could signify.
