It’s no news that bright colors annually follow the dregs of winter. Actually, one could even call it one of the “Rites of Spring”. Yet this year particularly, the usual pastels of flowers and Easter M&M’s are being replaced by certain boldness that only women who truly embody fashion can pull off. One of these bold colors is that elusive seductress that challenges its wearers in any shade- orange. One can either pull it off, or attempt to and fail miserably. However, despite its polar success rate, top designers are continuing to embrace orange, if only to continue to provide women with the opportunity to steal scenes, or in the case of urban dwellers, the streets. Nothing turns a head more than orange, and while so frequently those heads are turned expecting a disastrous miss, take charge, and with these bags, leave them stunned, jealous that they didn’t have the guts to put it all on the line themselves.
If you want to be a complete showstopper, the Dolce and Gabbana Patent Tote for $995 is perfection due to its sheer size and eye-catching gleam that jets from its patent leather body. If you’d like something sweeter, and perhaps more appropriate for lunch with a more conservative crowd, the Anya Hindmarch Clint Day Bag for $945 offers a more subtle orange, tastefully outlined by a white trim that plays down the outlandish quality of the orange, while still allowing the purse to turn onlookers’ glances, just not make them fall over their feet in shock. Also, for a much more manageable price of $295, one could opt for the Tory Burch Resin Clutch. Its ribbed texture gives it modern definition, and its small size and simple shape make it perfect for almost anywhere. Regardless of how and where you want to express your orange, it must be shown, it must be seen, and most importantly it must be worn with a sensuous air. Orange calls for nothing less.
