For most of you who live on the East right about now it’s about 20 degrees outside and dropping fast. So what do we look for on those cold dark nights? There is nothing better then a nice fire, a big cup of hot chocolate, and a nice big fluffy quilt. Now some of you may think of a Martha Stewart quilt, but for those of you who know me and those of us who are cut from the fashion cloth it’s a quilted bag.

This look as been on the fashion scene for a moment and this season it is bigger then ever. Here are some of the top designers and their versions of the quilted bags for this season. Marc Jacobs who is so on my speed dial really knows how to get to a girls heart. Not only does he design bags for Louis Vuitton but he also does his own collection which are amazing. Here we have Marc Jacobs Quilted Patent Leather Satchel available at Neiman Marcus for $1,750. This bag reminds me of my grandmas change purse, so this one has a special meaning to me. The ghetto fabulous chunky gold hardware really brings this bag to the next level and will get you through many seasons and years to come. Also, The Manor Bag from Burberry which I have to say the bag alone weighs as much as the price of $1,680 in change. I found that Burberry bags themselves happen to be very heavy, but when you see the bag in person it really is just a well constructed bag and this will be an asset to your collection. Finally rounding out the bunch, which is probably the one I would want the most, Balenciaga Matelasse by Nicolas Ghesquiere which comes in two sizes. The one shown here which happens to be the smaller of the two is priced at $1795; the much bigger bag which is probably more like a piece of luggage; however for those of us who carry our lives in our bags - bigger is always better.

So ladies for those of us, who dream of the handbag runway collections at night, go ahead and snuggle up with the Quilted Bags of the season as they will keep you just as warm as Martha Stewart’s blanket.
