This is a season for the fun, the fashionable, and the technological
advanced. In this stage of the game there needs to be a well rounded individual
ready to take on the challenges of the kayos at the tent in Bryant Park, NYC.
It’s a new season, a new way of thinking, and a time for designers to emerge new
collections. Below is a quick spin on the collections shown including
accessories, apparel, and the front row must haves. Enjoy!
• Breakfast: Quick banana and coffee followed by 9am and 10 am shows
• Show notes handed out to all attending and then… lights -camera -action!
• In the shows as a whole the prominent colors were neutrals, yellow, deep
purple, orange, black, white, metallic shine
• Bold Accessories or no accessories seemed to be the trend at the shows this
season. Big beads and no belt or belts galore and not a necklace in sight
• There was a hat fetish taking over the minds of the designers this season and
they all seemed to have that same frame of mind while thinking about waistlines
full of belts. Shoes with color blocks of yellow, white, and orange came across
hinting trend.
• Handbags were in hand… big and small colorful and neutral… it was all there!
• Jewelry didn’t seem so important but the attributes of larger accessories like
the handbag and the hat were much more common in the shows at Bryant Park
• Lunch: No Time! Find a taxi that won’t charge a $10 minimum because of the
crazy yellow car strike in NYC… how long can this last? Why has it started now
that fashion week is here? The hole no eating- no time businesses is not a big
deal for your average fashionista … jumping on the subway or a cross town bus
for off site shows was something most were used to doing
• Late afternoon shows were filled with the best of the best and the dinner
reservations were being made on their blackberry’s as these guests sat in their
seats… but don’t forget… the shows are glamorous and fun but the after parties
are even better!
Front Row Favorites were Sally Singer & Virginia Smith @ Ralph Lauren and Teri
Hatcher @ Badgley Mischka.
After Parties were off the charts and extremely exclusive. The best of the best
and their posies were invited but getting on the “A- List” is a main concern.
Love the celebs... love the atmospheres… love the new looks!
