In her coming out debut, Jessica Sica comes clean about what affects her handbag style. Bag designers read closely and in between the seams...

When nothing fits, a handbag will always be there to splurge on. Style awareness is a huge part of fashion. Not everything is runway status but knowing what is hot for the current season is important along with creating your own unique touch. No matter if it is an exciting handbag or an exciting show, and accessory can make or break an outfit.

Style can be influenced in a variety of ways that complement ones attitude or passions. Keeping up with what is around you is important but knowing who you are is the most rewarding when it comes to personal style. In my case, I like vintage inspired looks with a modern yet classy touch. I have a passion for Handbags, earrings, and shoes. I find joy in researching specific colors to add to the styles I like. Oversized handbags are a big hit now and that is a good size to buy but the detail on your handbag could be what persuaded the purchase. The important of mixing designer products with low-price items is a must for me. If you have on an expensive handbag that’s really matching a trend, pick a classier outfit to let the handbag take the stage. That is something I love to watch happen. Make your accessories pop off your outfit to give character and charisma to your look.

My last purchase was an oversized brown Betsey Johnson bag that is accented with bronze studs, a big buckle closure and rope accenting. I hit it big at a sample sale which is a great place to find trendy looks for cheap. Keep your mind open. Style is everywhere if you just look for it. My advice would be not to limit yourself to one way of shopping. High end isn’t always the way to go. Sometimes unique styles are in the most unexpected places so keep your eyes peeled.

If there is one bag I must have it is one that catches my eye, instantly grasps my attention and tells a story. I want my bags as well as my shoes and my clothes to complement me and my personality. Styles could change just like a mood but what you want to reflect is an accessory, like a handbag, that pulls an entire look together.

Overall, know who you are and keep your accessories loyal to that. One day you may want to dress very trendy and one day very classic but always look as though you are proud of your appearance. Personally, I think that handbags are a great way to show just that little bit of you.
