Animal prints have never really gone out of a style. As a designer though, one has to make the decision if they have the collection that could geniunely pull off a wild print like that or would that alienate their core customer. Clearly an animal print would never be an anchor piece to a collection however that said, if you are Valentino or the other aforementioned brands, clearly your audience would be dissapointed if you didn't have something exciting like a leopard skin. That said, animal prints are not so shocking these days since it would take more than a few spots and stripes to make a woman be frightened away from a handbag purchase. Maybe something in purple patent is a different story...
