Since its inception in 2003, Nailah's has garnered attention from the fashion savvy. Inspired by the chic style of my mother and aunts, I created the line as a continued expression of my family's great style and grace. It has been a long journey that brought Nailah’s to its current position in the market. In 2010 Nailah’s was chosen to showcase at the Essence Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana, which is one of the largest African-American Music Festivals in the world. Nailah’s also expanded it’s brand presence by starting a retail partnership with one of Milwaukee’s premier downtown boutiques, Lounge on Water. Nailah’s fans can now walk in Lounge to purchase a Nailah’s creation, in addition to visiting our website.

We care very much about the environment.  Nailah’s bags are handcrafted from recycled leather, premium discontinued upholstery leather and old garments, such as coats, pants, and skirts. We had longevity to every piece by using durable hardware and the finest of sturdy threads. I have always had a passion for creating beautiful accessories, and have been making pieces for family and friends since the turn of the millennium. When the economy shifted, I, like so many others found myself without a job. My, husband, friends and family encouraged me to pursue my passion as her new profession. Nailah’s is named after our Designers 8-year-old daughter, who is currently learning the trade.

The night before a big show my main sewing machine broke in the middle of the night. I had to switch to a much smaller and slower machine which began to cause buckled seams and uneven stitching! I was able to salvage the show with items I already had in stock, but I can say that night was a living nightmare. My greatest achievement has yet to come. Although Nailah’s has been gaining great momentum and I’ve had the opportunity to travel the country with the line, I know God has so much more in store for Nailah’s as a company.
