Story: Knitone bags have lasted the test of time (four years
in fact.) Our customers are thrilled with their shape and size to accommodate
their knitting supplies and also love how stylish the bags are! We now offer ten
different fabric combinations in our bags and are always adding new ones to our
collection.
Knitone bags are unique in their shape because they allow you to carry straight
needles and have a pouch to keep accessories separate. Additionally, they are
unique because each bag pairs two fabulous and complimentary fabrics together so
that you have a surprise when you open the bag. We generally use upholstery
fabrics for their wonderful textures and designs and because they are so
substantial.
I started my line because when I stopped working as a lawyer to stay home with
my newborn son, I started knitting for a hobby. I was on the go, at the gym,
office appointments and playdates, and could not find a darling bag in which to
carry my knitting. Not only were the typical knitting bags unattractive, but
none were that functional either. So, I sat down and designed my own!
I purchase all of my fabrics, zippers, labels, shipping and office supplies here
in the United States and the bags are actually manufactured in Denver, where I
live. I feel great about feeding the U.S. economy and being so close to my
manufacturer, I have 100% control over the quality of the bags.
I guess my story is more funny than an actual nightmare, but it would have to be
my very first prototype of a knitone bag. Although I got my sewing badge in Girl
Scouts back in elementary school, I am not by any means an expert in that field.
Nonetheless, I bought a battery-operated handheld sewing machine (yes, "as seen
on tv") and cut a pattern on my dining room table. I got to work and although
the result was neither perfect nor pretty, I got my basic idea across and
brought my dream to fruition.
The one thing I can say it is so gratifying to have such happy and thrilled
customers. I receive so much positive feedback, usually in the form of repeat
business and referrals... that makes me feel great because I strive to have a
fabulous product and 200% perfect customer service!
