I am the quintessential fashion addict who was educated in business and law before succumbing to my true passion. I am self-taught and trained in the fashion world. I started my firs collection by using standard diaper bag materials and added extra flair with Swarovski components. I then moved to using non-leather materials and played with metallics to set my bags apart from my competitors. It is with my third collection that I have fallen in love with fine leathers and premier designer accents that truly catapult my handbags into the luxury market that are handmade with undeniable quality. Overall, my designs seamlessly meet maternity function, while transferring effortlessly into the perfect handbag post diaper days.  Boujie handbags are fashioned after the woman who exudes class and confidence and demands premier quality. Our bags are made for longevity and have multiple uses from baby to everyday to the jet-setting socialite and lives by the mantra that you get what you pay for. We put design and quality above all else.

2009 marks the introduction of the Prima Collection by Boujie Couture, a collection of lush leather handbags for women, a daring integration of before, during and after “when life happens”; most appropriately designated as /gear for the glamorous/. Our designs are more than unique. We use pre-washed and distressed Italian lamb skin, so that wear and tear looks great as the bag ages. Lamb skin is also very light, so packing your bag full doesn’t become a pain in your neck, literally. The bags are finished off with all nickel hardware and pyramid spots for extra drama. We use Lampo zippers that are the best in metal and slide with ease, along with Italian nylon lining that exudes luxury even from the interior. There is not a single element that can be upgraded, so our bags leave you spoiled beyond compare. Our bags are hand-cut and hand-sewn by Italian trained craftsmen and most importantly, made in the U.S.A.

Currently, our bags have so many uses, that it is unbelievable! Being in the middle of an economic slump, our brand has a huge advantage in that it is impossible to narrow it to one category. We constantly encourage people to use our bags for the gym, carry on the airplane, for your bottles and baubles, or for a night out on the town! So, there is life after baby!  Although the bags are leather, the lamb skin is pre-washed, so you can actually put the bag in the washing machine for a delicate wash. As always, please consult your local leather specialist for instruction and care. Not everyone will take the chance on a gorgeous leather bag, but the skin was made for it!

Fresh out of Law School, I could barely concentrate on studying for the bar because my passion for fashion and entrepreneurial adventure was raging! The brand’s birth materialized by the news of my pregnant sister and best friend due weeks apart. I scoured the aisles of posh boutiques for the perfect accessory to my new nieces, the everyday diaper bag. I came up empty handed. Not a single bag represented the savvy style that my closest friends’ possessed, so I took matters into my own hands and Boujie Baby Couture was born!

My biggest design nightmare to day was when Oone of my second clutch designs involved a chain link closure with a plastic prong closure. I also had all the wrong measurements! It can sampled in pvc and an awful brass imitation link that I wouldn’t sell to a resale shop. Always check your measurements!  Our greatest achievement has been reaching savvy shoppers in finer boutiques across the country without having a huge corporate brand name behind us! We thrive on HauteMama word of mouth. It is not easy to be in the fashion business. Most businesses fail and we are growing, so I am happy to still be doing what I love. Also, I'm really glad to offer a fashionable alternative to new moms who are coming into a new role in life. I'm glad to know I can make their lives a little easier! There are always babies...always moms and for that I'm grateful!

Oh, and most of all, I am grateful for having an amazing mother who taught me everything I know and who never let me give up on my dream! Without her, I would have let the fashion world chew me up and spit me out!
