1. What an amazingly inspirational story?! - Kara from NYC, February 05, 2007.
2. I understand these ladies have some fun playing designer and spotlighting other villages ladies as designers as well, but to me,after 2 degrees and 25 years in this industry, honestly is kind of insulting.Call yourself a doer not a designer, there must be a reason why people spend years in school to become one. - Daren from NY, February 06, 2007.
3. how threatened are you by us ‘fake’ designers-who are you anyway? - I guess Kate Spade was not deserving of her success & Diane von Furstenberg's achievements are fake b/c they weren’t ‘trained’ like you. Get over yourself darren and make room for the 'new generation of female inspired designers - good for you susan - we are rooting for you and all the other featured people on hb101 - Carrie from NYC, February 06, 2007.
4. Seriously Daren... it is pretty ridiculous for you to care that much about how people get started and what their background is. It is probably too bad that you had spent so much time and energy on degrees, as Susan clearly had didn't need that. - Ella from NYC, February 06, 2007.
5. Listen,Darren, your education is definitely going add an edge, depth and value to your work. I'd like to see what you have done.Maybe you can teach us all something about design. I would like to see some of your creations.Bring it on Daren! You must learn to be a bit more encouraging though. Always think creatively not competitively.Don't be threatened. There is no lack of clientele to go around. Each person draws in what they ask for, think about and believes.Susan keep believing in yourself and your designs. - Diane from Brazil, February 10, 2007.
6. My daughter and I are going to do this because it sounds like a FUN way to make new friends and a little money too. Plus, we LOVE purses (and shoes) so this is going to perfect for us!!!! We can't wait to get started! And I say ignore the naysayers...the internet is a perfect forum for a coward to bully people. Many people have degrees and don't use them for many reasons. Jealousy is an unattractive character trait and people with that negative trait should be avoided at all costs.Wish us luck!! - Wendy from TX, May 21, 2007.
7. Be careful I purchased a purse and had problems, they would not help me. I have also talked to other people with same issue. They are growing to fast and do not understand that customer service is the best way to keep a business healthy. - Susan from FL, September 28, 2007.
8. I had to get a bag repaired, there was a minor tear near the snap and it was probably because I am hard on my bags. I sent it back and not only did I get it back fast they made me a brand new purse! That is great customer service! - from PA, October 10, 2007.
9. Great to see a terrific story like this! And so insightful to what is meaningful! - Sue Means from NC, October 22, 2007.
10. I have to agree with Susan the #7 person. I had a problem with my order and MS Guillen spoke to me only to say you purchased it, it is yours She needs to learn customer service happens on the way up or else things tend to go down. I also am concerned about the durability my purse is not that old and some of the seams are opening up. I am very sorry to see a company go in this direction. - Sally from MA, October 25, 2007.
11. You best update your content. Bags are no longer made in the US. They were shipped offshore to China. Ever since, orders are delayed, customers are dissatisfied. - An upset Husband from USA, December 11, 2008.
12. There have been some delays since operations were moved. However, Lisa Henderson and Sandra Masters have been terrific in making sure all customers stay satisfied. One will only know what B's Purses and accessories are when you carry one. You will get constant compliments everywhere you go from people you know and those you don't! The bags are very light weight as well so fill with all your precious cargo, they do not weigh a ton! The home parties are so much fun as together we put together unique fabric combinations on styles to fit you! Email me if you would like to become a rep, host a party or just order a bag. Lisadamore@comcast.net. - Lisa from NJ, January 21, 2009.
13. Hey Daren learned I'll take inherent creativity over forced any damm day! Get over yourself@#$%&* - JC from WIDs, January 06, 2010.

Every new company begins with a vision. Armed with that vision and a passionate dream to create fashionable designs three young women set a path that would create the remarkable story of B's Purses. The foundation was laid when I was hurrying to fill orders in my basement for friends and family that recognized my keen eye for style. My designs were captivating and they soon began to spread from her close circle to many women across nearby states.

One customer was Lisa Henderson, a young, energetic mother with a savvy marketing background and an eye toward building a business. Lisa and I discussed the idea of starting a home party business and distributing the exciting purses through a network of designers. As the concept gained energy and expanded to include customization we soon realized we needed operations expertise to fill in the finer details to make their dream business begin to take shape. Entered Sandra Masters, another fashionable young Mom with a background in designer products and distribution. Sandra would soon contribute the development of systems and operational components that would complement Susan's enchanting designs and Lisa's marketing prowess. With the foundation solidly in place and business plan in hand three young moms set off to empower women everywhere with the opportunity to combine fashion and passion with the many rewards of a booming enterprise!

The biggest design nightmare I have experienced came early in our company’s existence when I chose a very large black and white polka dot material for a luggage line that we had just introduced. The fabric was fantastic and I knew it would perfectly complement the concept I was trying to create - so I ordered it. The material came in and I excitedly created the first sample, knowing that it would be a huge hit! You can imagine my disappointment as the bag began to take shape and I quickly learned that what I thought would be a huge success actually looked remarkably like a huge cow! I learned a big lesson that day..... do not order fabric without first having a sample made! I now call the vendor and order a sample yardage prior to making my final design.

Our single greatest achievement cannot be measured in material gains. While we have enjoyed wonderful success in the media, the business community and revenue growth we remain centered on the enjoyment our business brings to friends and family throughout the country. We have empowered women from all over to use B’s as a platform that creates new friendships, self-confidence and an avenue to contribute financially to their families. The intangibles we feel represent our greatest achievement are the lifelong memories and relationships created through B’s parties and the joy that comes from simply sharing moments with special friends in a fashionable atmosphere.

We are also proud that are bags are made right here in the United States and that we have contributed to our economy in that manner. Our bags are manufactured in an area that was losing significant accounts to less-skilled and cheaper workers overseas. B’s has played a role in creating secure jobs for wonderfully skilled workers in the US who otherwise faced the fear of uncertainty related to maintaining employment. The ripple effect of positive things resulting from the birth of our business is staggering and often overlooked in the wild pace of the day. Knowing that B’s has empowered women and enriched lives all over our country is incredibly rewarding.
