| In my current ’09 line, I am working on
incorporating texture and surface manipulation. I continue to find it amazing
how creativity can come from so many little things and I thank my father for my
skills as he was a very artistic man himself. I choose material that
feels great and looks great. As a graphic designer by trade I strive to create
handbags that reflect and communicate the personality of the woman holding it.
My target audience is any woman who appreciates creative style and looks for
fresh designs regardless of age. I continuously get inspired by new fabric,
fashion design trends, and the women around me. What makes Blue Orchid Bags
different? Pride in craftsmanship, and current yet not overly trendy styles -
read wearable.
I have been sewing since I was 12 years old. There is something magical about
taking a few yards of fabric and creating something wearable. With my love of
handbags and my ability to sew it seemed only natural to take my creativity into
the direction of designing and sewing handbags. Each Blue Orchid Handbag is
designed and handcrafted by me. What you receive is an original, created with
passion and great care. I strive to make bags that are wearable with a women’s
wardrobe whether it be jeans, a suit, or evening wear.
I am fortunate to have not experienced any design nightmares so far but I am all
too aware that anything can happen at any time! Keeping that in mind I am
prepared to face each and every challenge that presents itself knowing it will
make me a better designer. Of course my greatest achievement is seeing a women
carrying one of my bags. Recently I was contacted by a woman who purchased one
of my bags; she told me how beautiful she was going to be carrying my bag with
her on her wedding day!
