| Abas designs and manufactures clutches, handbags and
small leather goods. We are currently working on diversifying or product mix.
Our leather experts have traveled the world to identify the best tanneries that
offer the highest quality leathers. In almost all cases the tanneries are in
small villages in hills of Tuscany practicing a trade that has been cultivated
over thousands of years. That fact that our entire collection is made in our own
factories in America is something of which we are very proud.
Abas target audience is quite large. Our design philosophy is to create products
of distinction and ones that allow our leather choices to shine. This targets
most women. For wholesale, we are interested in the best boutiques world-wide as
well as select department stores.
Abas’ women’s collection really did not start until the year 2000. The 30 years
prior to the collections inception were spent designing and manufacturing other
brands...some of the best and most distinguished brands in the world.
Inevitably, these brands would move their production to other parts of the world
where labor was less expensive. In 2000, Abas decided that we wanted to
create our own brand and build our own future and legacy. We knew we had the
skills to design and manufacture our line and have managed to figure our the
distribution aspect of the business.
There are so many parts that go into putting a collection together that every
season brings many frustrations and nightmares. In reality, this is part of what
make this job so much fun. Abas greatest achievement has unquestionably
been the acceptance of our brand by many of the worlds best retailers and
ultimately the consumer. At the end of the day, seeing people using our products
is the ultimate satisfaction.
