I launched the first collection of Canopy Verde in September 2008 - it has seven styles in four colors. The line is sold in approximately fifteen boutiques in New York, Boston, Chicago, and DC. The spring collection is being produced as we speak and I am really excited about the new oversize tote, which can be used as a baby bag, beach bag, or just a big carryall for all your gear.

Canopy Verde is a "modern meets earth-friendly" line of handbags designed to be both stylish and environmentally responsible. All the bags are made with organic cotton and bamboo, chrome-free leather, chemical-free embroidery, and dyes certified by OEKO to be free of harmful chemicals and substances.

After managing the accessories category at FILA for seven seasons, I felt ready to launch my own line of handbags. It was very exciting and rewarding to produce a collection that reflected my own aesthetic and philosophy. I made the conscious decision to source and produce all my bags in China. My parents grew up in China, raised us in Taiwan, and still live there today. Given my Chinese roots, I felt it was a unique opportunity to work with Chinese manufacturers and be a part of the growing eco-friendly market in China. All the materials are sourced locally to reduce the transportation impact.

Fortunately I have not had any design nightmares! But starting my own line has definitely come with a whole set of challenges, from scouring the market in China to find the right fabric to launching the website the week after I gave birth! I think what I am happiest about is the eco-friendly philosophy behind the brand. I tried to be as thoughtful as possible about every component that went into the bag - the fabric, dyeing process, embroidery, lining, packaging, etc.
