1. I have a Morris B black bag and I love it and get so many compliments on the bag!!! - Shannon W from ON/Canada, September 15, 2008.

I have been working in the handbag industry for close to 20 years. I graduated a fashion collage, specializing in handbags in 1990 and after obtaining my Mastercraft certificate in handbag manufacturing I ventured to South Africa to learn more about exotic leathers and design handbags for one of the best exotic skin manufacturers. From there I moved on to England where I learned about off shore mass manufacturing. I left this behind t move to Canada and after 5 years of working din design but missing my high end handbags I decided to go back to my true love and started Morris B Handbags, doing again what I know I do best, making high end leather and exotic skin handbags. I am just starting to get my collection into stores and I am also doing made to order ostrich bags.

I only work with Italian leathers and hardware, I believe in exceptional quality and workmanship. My favorite material is genuine ostrich leather as it gets nicer over time, you have to wear it to make it look beautiful. Traveling really inspires me, I love to look at European Art Deco architecture and translating these simple elegant lines into my creations, as long s I travel I will not run out of ideas, even just watching people in foreign places, they way they dress and simply live inspires me to new designs. I started late in 2005 as I just wanted to do handbags again, I love the feel and smell of leather an simply missed it by designing mass produced items and not having this connection with the manufacturing process. I wanted to design, make a pattern and manufacture the bag again, the full process not just one step. There is nothing better than finishing a prototype and looking it over, being completely satisfied with the outcome- that's true happiness to me.

The "Lola" bag , which is one of my best selling bags since I presented it early this year has actually been designed as my final school piece in 1990 , I kept the sample and wore it to a shop I exhibited at and just left it at the side of the table and everybody wanted it, so I decided to bring it back, offer it in a really out there red patent and see if people till love it and they do, obviously clean lines and classic design doesn't age an that's what I want to get out, you don't have to jump on the latest trends all the time, elegance is timeless.

I guess designing a really high end collection of ostrich and alligator bags with a tight dead line and the girls on the production floor decided to mount all the handles wrong. We had to undo all the panels and keep the packing department amused until we finished late Saturday night to get them off to the airport so they won't miss the flight (the bags) I certainly learned to mark my patterns clearly after that.  It took me almost a year to get my first, still small Morris B collection out s I was still holding a demanding full time job but I made it, I worked every weekend, most of the evenings to make it happen. I was just so happy when I presented my first line to the public and the very first day of the show I sold the most expensive bag in my collection. This gave me the confidence to continue and to start using South African ostrich s my favorite leather again.
