I was born in Tokyo but last 10 years I have lived out side of my country. I am curious person and love to improve something new.  Living out side of Japan definitely have formed back born of my creative growth. I would like to create accessories that make women feel special and to be a part of them to express themselves. I make casual day bags to party bags with high quality materials that I chose. I try to make bags are still affordable price range, thinking what my friends and I would be able to afford. Something not overpriced just because by name, and also not so mass production poor quality. I was happened to find very interesting Kimono called Meisen, is produced in Kanto region surrounding Tokyo and is characterized by its colorful and modern dynamic designs unlike other traditional Kimonos. It's a fine fabric of 100% silk and was worn by both ordinary people and imperial family. The unique iridescent look of this meisen express the premium quality of the fabric. I tried to contact with 3 existing meisen fabric in Chichibu and I have them made meisen kimono and I made bag with high quality Italian leather. Since I have to import and it's hand woven so it is not a easy procedure. I can only do for limited edition quantity and some of these bags are sold at Takashimaya NY.

After I worked with Irish designer Pauric Sweeney, I have found a small domestic Italian leather bag company that is making traditional bags for years. Soon after, we started talking about a collaboration to launch new bag brand and 3 months later I was at the show in Paris. Working with small domestic factories where they are veterans is very humbling. They have been working years and years, using traditional bag making techniques. This pushes the limit of my creativity and allows me to produce bags in limited edition qualities. It will become more and more difficult to be purely creative if you intend to be appreciated by larger amount of people....

Sometime it's hard to sit and finish work.  So then I just watch movie, listen to  music, or go take a walk in the city.  Yes sometimes it's not easy to decide when you finish design and be convinced. Especially when you design for something you wouldn't like, thinking about consumer it's hard.. but end of the day I end up designing what I love. It needs great demands and is always a challenge. When you do this as long as a hobby, when then that's another story.  I am happy when people love and appreciate what I created and that keeps me going to continue.
