Having grown up in New York City where I was surrounded by culture and fashion, I developed a love for all things “art & design.” I entered college as an art major, but found myself unsatisfied in the classroom. I ended up with a BS in Journalism, but quickly decided that a news career was not for me.

After graduating, I worked in product development at a large cosmetic company. I assisted in launching a line of beauty products and accessories. While I was fortunate enough to be involved in both areas, I found myself drawn to the accessory design side of the business. After three years, I decided to venture out on my own.

My wish was to produce a line of handbags that any woman could wear on any given day. They are stylish yet practical…every style has ample interior pockets and is comfortable to wear. It was also very important to me that my line be manufactured on-shore. Jessica Jaye handbags are all handmade in NYC from fine Italian leather. The Fall/Winter collection is finished with antique brass hardware and all styles have a lilac interior lining.

Since starting my company, I have become a mother. My daughter is now 4 months old and sometimes it seems too difficult to be a full-time mom and run a business. However, having her has made my determination to succeed at this that much stronger.
