I am a married, stay-at-home mom to two elementary age boys. Prior to having my youngest son, I was employed as a Computer Illustration Instructor at a design college in Los Angeles. Last year, I started my own handbag business and I am selling my bags through my online store, Designs2Infinity.com. I would also like to make my bags available in boutiques and specialty shops.

Sequins, beads, crystals, embroidery, and other embellishments adorn my handmade creations. The handbags are constructed with the finest fabrics, yarns, and hardware. I also hand-knit many of my handbags, and embellish them with novelty yarns and use beaded, wooden, or metal handles and chains for many of my styles. My target audience is women between the ages of 30-59, who are looking for that perfect handbag to express their individuality, while accommodating their active lifestyle. I chose this age group because women in this age range tend to be either career-oriented, socially committed, or a busy mom.

I've always loved handbags, and whenever I purchased a new bag, I would tend to envision in my mind what would make that particular bag even better. I would picture a bag without a strap with one, or add an outside pocket, or at times even add a pendant or bow to my store-bought bags. I soon began making my own handbags, and would always get a good response from other people. Friends and relatives were always trying to encourage me to sell my handbags. I eventually decided to follow everyone's advice and create my own line. The word "Infinity" originally came about when my husband and I were dating. We would always sign off on our letters or notes to each other with the words "To Infinity". It just seemed appropriate to apply that term to my company name and collection because it is something I totally believe in, and plan to be part of for the long haul.

My biggest nightmare took place when I was preparing for a showing of my handbags at an event, and a few days before the event, my eyesight went bad on me. I had to get glasses for the first time. I was able to get a rush on the glasses, but because I lost some time being able to work on my handbags, I ended up staying up the entire night before the event. I decided to take a quick nap before leaving for the show, and ended up oversleeping. I never made it to the show!

My greatest achievement is being able to see my dream of having my own handbag business and online store come to life. It is all worth it when I can look at my business objectively and see it as something I actually like and am proud of. I am especially fulfilled when I get positive feedback from other people whose opinions really matter to me.
