I studied art at Purdue University and received my BA focused on painting and drawing. I am now working on my Masters at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, studying art therapy. I started my accessories line last year when I went to thrift stores and bought vintage rings and handbags and recycled them by embellishing each piece with pom poms, beads, and embroidery. I am currently selling my line in 15 stores across the country.

I put a great deal of handwork into my bags. I do all my own beading and embroidery, which results in each bag taking many many hours to complete. I mostly use craft pom poms and beads as well as embroidery floss to make each bag. My target audience is 20-35 year old women. I am inspired by cellular organic shapes, and my bags are special because they have a very unique shape and texture.

I started my line when I decided I wanted to start reusing items and reworking them to create new, fresh looks. I have been sewing for many years now. Sewing is a stress reducer for me, so I knew that while working on my bags, I would be doing something good for my psyche at the same time.
I hand sew a lot of French Knots into my work, something you do not see a lot in handbags.

Regarding design nightmare, well one time I was making a bright white bag and I was almost finished with it and pricked my finger (which happens constantly) but I didn't notice I was bleeding. It was night time and I didn't have enough light on my bag to see I was getting dots of blood on my beautiful white bag!  Live and learn... My greatest achievement is finding something that makes me so happy to work on. To be able to find something that calms me down and makes me feel good is a great achievement.
