Throughout our travels in many parts of the world, Indonesia being one, we decided to design a few bags, just for ourselves. On one of our many adventures, we were engaged with an idea that would change the life of everyday-wear into a more luxurious existence. On this trip, beirn was born. The finished product which is authentic watersnake with defined topstitching is available in a variety of 25 colors. In that instant, we decided that this was one bag that needed to be introduced to the world. As I, Rita (the mother) have done for many designers in the past and continues today, I decided to help my daughter's launch our idea into a reality. As CEO of the The RJM Group, I use those same strategies that were so successful in launching and developing her other clients. Using both of my daughters' middle name, a family name, "beirn," we did just that. Beirn is currently sold worldwide in a variety of styles and colors, including Bergdorf Goodman, Searle, Plaza Too, and Calypso in New York.

The beirn bag is lined with a lightweight canvas material that can endure the strenuous undertaking semester of a college student, while the watersnake outside is sure to make any cosmopolitan woman feel so enigmatic with her smart bag in tow.  The idea of having a mixed representation of luxury, durability and versatility in one series of bags gave them the opportunity to fill a void
in the market to a large audience.

Before Christmas, we had several trunk shows and due to the high demand we were frantic because last minute deliveries were not going to make it to the US by the dates of the parties. We picked and pulled from several orders and finally had enough product but what a nightmare it was—the thought of having to cancel all shows was so stressful, but it all worked out, doesn’t it always?! The greatest achievement has been the collaboration of mother and daughters and building upon, not only a handbag business, but a friendship.
