Story:

My name is Jackee Strom and I started Pursecution in 2005. I went through a lot of funky ideas prior to getting to the more classic (my version of classic at least) designs I have now. Pursecution is constantly evolving. The 'Sinjun' style bag is one of my latest and greatest (the picture I sent in). I love that it is still adorably feminine yet features a skull on it. It says you can be girly but tough at the same time, gotta love that! The body of this bag is one of my favorite designs to work with lately and you can see that reflected in the 'Emma' and the 'Margaret' also.

When Pursecution started, I used canvas, board game cardboard, pvc pipes (if you can believe it) and wood. Very experimental. I have now fallen in love with leather. It is strong, it is soft, it is beautiful, it is resilient, the list goes on and on. I have chosen sateen as the interior fabric for it's soft and silky feeling, yet it is still a durable fabric. My target audience varies. It is like the friendships I keep, they are all over the place with personality and appearance, and I know that Pursecution purse carriers vary in the same manner. It has gone from moms showing off their style to their kids to young women finding a bag as unique as they are. I love that my designs appeal to such a vast audience. I am inspired to create non-stop just by my nature. I love making things, I have had a passionate affair with purses for a long time (other designers and mine), I love designing. I become attached to each and every bag I have made, I take my time on them and they are each personalized through their design and color.

Pursecution started in 2005 just out of a need to create and a love for purses. I first sold 'Game Board' purses at a tattoo convention around then. The 'Ouija' board purse was featured in Rue Morgue magazine at the time. Pursecution is transitioning to be a line of purses inspired by strong women of the past and present. I try to capture their personal strengths and beauty in every design.

Actually I have been fortunate enough to not have too many nightmare situations. I did send a purse to England only to find out I had completely missed a hem in the interior. That was truly embarrassing, but also is a testament to the 'handmade' aspect of my purses. Don't worry, that does not happen anymore, I fired my quality control person (I did have to hire myself back to design, sew and run my operation though).

My greatest achievement with Pursecution is simply having people appreciate the bags I make. I have received so many incredible emails about them, even from people who have not purchased them, they just want me to know I am doing a good job! I have done well on the website I sell at so far (www.pursecution.etsy.com) and have received nothing but positive feedback regarding my bags. A couple sales that stand out to me: One of my first big sales ($150 purse, my largest sell at the time), the woman who purchased it said it was the first time she had ever purchased a bag over $25 - $50, and she chose one of mine! Another was a woman who told me she was selling two of her big name designer bags (I won't mention which ones) to buy one of mine. Incredible! That kind of appreciation for my designs and my bags makes it all worthwhile.
