| 1. | Good luck. Your bags are pretty and unique. I like how you named your company after you and your children. What struck me is that in German, Opa is grandfather and Oma is grandmother. Best of luck! - SarahM from TX, May 08, 2008. |

Story: The style butterfly came about because I wanted to explore new things and
shapes with my bags and the name was because of my love of butterflies. It is
made out of 100% real Bahamian straw there are over 700 islands in the Bahamas
and every island has it's own special type of straw, also some special extras
are added to the bags such as goat skin, cow skin, snake skin or coconut
leather. My bags are custom made and are all one of a kind! In my line OPAMA
Designs, there are no two bags alike. The reason i picked Bahamian straw is
simply because it's a part of me, so with every bag a part of me is going into
it! They are being showcased at KAJ International, Nassau, Bahamas.
There are bags for all ages, and they are all lined by leopard fabric. What
inspired me was just the love of bags and I got tired of seeing the same old
style of Bahamian bags and wanted to change it and because of the love of my
culture! OPAMA Designs is a family company and the name came from the
first letter of myself and my four kids. Every bag is hand sewn and made with
love.
A design nightmare for me is when I sewed 5 bags with the wrong sides and I
had to rip them all out and hand sew them all over again! There were due 3 in
three hours and it was just so frustrating but with God's help, it was all done
in time! That said, my greatest achievement is having women from all over the
world calling me to order a bag and seeing the look on their face when they see
it and when they wear it makes it all worth it! |
