My name is Jasmine Fullman and I am the founder and designer of Naturally Knotty and found my inspiration to start this company from her years living in Shanghai. After taking notice of the piles of silk scraps that were left abandon in the fabric markets I purchased my first 10Kg of assorted scraps and worked with my friends to make a few different style bags for my own use. They were a hit and after a few months of making them for my friends I decided there was an opportunity and Naturally Knotty was formed.

I use silk scraps from large factories and recycled plastic coatings to create elegant totes, handbags, clutches and wraps. My goal was always to make a product that I would use and focus on the details such as high quality zippers, extra pockets, large comfortable handles and durability to be used everyday. In addition, every design incorporates a knot of some kind per the brand name.

Naturally Knotty is expanding through the US through independent retailers and the internet. My biggest challenge to date has been the ongoing sourcing challenges. When using factory scrap you never know exactly what you are going to find in your next ton of silk scraps - that is both the inspiration and the challenge of what we do! I just love getting a new shipment of scraps and matching them up. My biggest nightmare was related to the silk clutches. I have always liked big bags, but when the estimates of size got away from me and I got a prototype of a silk clutch back that was almost 2 feet wide and I realized bigger is not always better.

My greatest achievement is the inspiration I see in others as they watch what I have created grow. For so many people the hardest part is just getting started, and I love inspiring others to go ahead and get themselves out there to give it a try themselves. It's a reciprocal thing where we all push each other to do better and follow our passions.
