Story: Vannessa Koko Bottoli is the inspiration behind the
fine hand-crafted leather products of the Koko Bottoli brand. Our wide-ranging
international travel and the role model of a highly fashionable mother have
contributed to her vision. All my work exhibits attention as much as to
aesthetics as to practicality, form as function. The result: extraordinary
handbags and accessories for the most discerning tastes.
I chose Milan for the launch of the Koko Bottoli bag and accessory line. Here, I
have been able to realize my creative vision working with some of Italy's
skilled craftsmen and utilizing the region's extensive choice of high quality
leathers (lambskin, Vitello, Vintage oil finished leathers, textured leathers).
The Sandra bag is special because of the smocked technique that I have adopted
from clothing to bags and on leather.
I established Koko Bottoli simply as a response to my own often fruitless hunt
for handbags that would suit women with a similar lifestyle and sensibility as
her own. After studying the particular techniques of luxury handbag and belt
design as well as the production process, I combined my creative vision and
fashion experience with the specific unique requirements of handbag design and
production to launch her own range in 2006.
The collections celebrate elegant and timeless design, are characterized by
audacious colors, modern construction and superior manufacture. Styles blend
classic lines with vintage, edgy and sporty variations. The making of the Sandra
bag (smocked effect on lambskin leather). Most of the craftsmen said that it
would be difficult to use the smocking technique on leather. I wanted a
different look to the 'quilted bags' which screamed Chanel no matter the style
of the quilting. I literally had to hand-stitch (smock) a whole piece of
leather, take the sample to a crafts-man who accepted the challenge and get the
first sample made. The result and the response has been great.
Inspired by you, designed by me, created for you has been my philosophy from the
beginning. Each Koko Bottoli collection adheres to that theme, proposing bags
and belts that speak of timeless design and modern practicality. My
mission guiding her ongoing expansion is to appeal to the discerning woman by
offering an investment in fashion innovation, quality and functionality.
