Story: I have learned so much in the last year. I feel that my designs continue to evolve, and I am having so much fun with the process. Of course, there is so much involved in starting a new business that I find myself busy with many other projects aside from the designing. I look forward to growing the infrastructure and having more time to design.
To date, I have used primarily calfskin and lambskin for my handbag line. What is more unusual about my line are the other elements that I add for design purposes. Whether I am using lucite, metal or silk I work to create a design that brings the wearer an element of what is most fun in a current fashion trend. My handbags are all about making a statement. Sometimes the statement is simple and refined and other times it expresses a strong confident edgy feel. The quality and workmanship that goes in to each of my handbags is well beyond what you find in most handbag lines today. Each bag is lined in suede and feels like a special piece.
I started creating handbags to create something different to carry myself. As I saw that more women were interested in my designs, the line grew. Now, carrying one of my handbags gives you an extra pep in your step! I really think that just as a piece of jewelry can make an outfit, so can a great handbag. With the design element that each of my handbags offers, a woman is able to look impeccably dressed when well dressed and can also turn a t-shirt and jeans in to a fantastic look just by carrying one of my bags.
No big nightmare story yet. Of course, there is always the "process" of perfecting just the right look you want. Women are really responding to my designs! I love it, I have received press in "InStyle", "Life & Style", "Marie Claire", and other shows/publications as well. If I can continue to do what I love, and succeed - I will be so fortunate. |
