My name is Dwight "DJ" Jackson, I am currently a Real
Estate Investor (developer) as well as a Fashion Designer. I created the 31st
and Jackson Inc. brand in the fall of 2006. Our current product line includes
high-end men, women and children apparel, handbags/purses, fragrances, high-end
jewelry and select furniture pieces. 31st and Jackson will launch its first Ad.
Campaign in the spring of 2008.
The 31st and Jackson Inc. line of handbags and purses are created using only the
finest materials available usually imported from the "Bella" region in Italy,
Australia and the US (i.e. leather, fur, crocodile, cotton). The actual lining
material varies from silk and polyester to a highly textured cotton. Because
31st and Jackson Inc. is a high-end brand our target audience is an upscale
consumer base as well as others who possess a discriminating taste in quality
and limited high fashion. Currently our client list includes government
officials, clergymen, Fortune 500 executives, celebrities, professional athletes
and a growing number of everyday consumers seeking exclusive high fashion.
This brand was created by inspiration of other industry insiders (i.e. models,
stylists, designers). I (DJ) have always had an eye for fashion and over the
years others noticed it as well by always complimenting my style and always
asking for fashion tips and because of the consistency of those remarks I
decided to start designing my own line in 2006. I feel that 31st and Jackson is
a breath of fresh air to the fashion industry, simply because it has been
saturated with the same styles (which are replications of each other) and same
designers for such a long time. The difference is that the 31st and Jackson line
is a direct reflection of me and my style the men's line is what I wear, the
women's line of apparel, jewelry and handbags is what I like to see women wear,
and the children's line is what my kids wear.
My design nightmare was an actual leak of my entire first collection. I
initially intended to launch 31st and Jackson Inc. in February of this year
(2007) but because of illegal product duplication/replication (China and Europe)
I had to start all over. My greatest achievement thus far in relations to the
fashion industry has to be the fact that I actually did it, I reached a goal
that many people set but rarely achieve. I created an entire line from a mere
vision and to have so much positive feedback makes it all worth it because my
brand has not been formally introduced to the world yet!
