Story:
My name is Suzanne Fontana, owner/designer of Bella boutique creations, a new hip and exciting website dedicated to my love of handbags and purses. I have been designing and creating for nearly 7 years, and sewing for over 25 years (I began when I was 12ish). I began as I stated earlier 7 years ago selling my designs on Ebay, and finally began my own site in July,2007. I design Diaper bags, handbags, totes, purses, and other sweet items for ladies of all ages.

I love fabric. I actually collect it. Now, use all sorts of fabrics, cottons, silks, denim. I also use many unconventional fabrics.  I might see a window panel with an unusual pattern or coloration, and design, and I can envision a handbag. Every one of our bags is handmade, and cut freehand without any patterns.  When I think about my target audience, it is quite strange. I began designing diaper bags, and more and more, ladies bought them that had absolutely no intentions of using them as such. They just loved the designs and fabrics, and bought them to use as daily tote bags.

The start of my designing bags began as a stylish and functional alternative to the "baby-store bought" diaper bags. Diaper bags made out of pretty teddies and bunnies, pink and blue, bags that match onesies and foot pjs. I wanted to create something that can be purchased, and used beyond the "baby years". My Diaper bags looked like cool and stylish totes, full of pockets, changing pads, and room for just about anything and everything. I began getting ladies purchasing them that weren't Moms or Moms to be! Sure many ladies bought my designs, and loved using them when they went out with their babies, but many used them everyday as an alternative to a purse. I then began getting requests for "Mommy and me" sets, one for the MOM, and one for the little girl that had a "baby" of her own to care for. My smaller yet functional bags, were born and became the Toddler Diaper totes, sized perfectly for a sippy cup, a pull up and mommy's keys phone and money, and then the Chic Mommy Purses were also born.

I have had only one catastrophe, thank goodness. I had 10 bags to make as a gift from a bride to her bridal party, and, my sewing machine broke! Because of what I make, I need a professional heavy duty machine, and they are quite costly. I was very fortunate to have made friends with the sales lady at my singer store, and I explained the situation and she LEANT me a machine from the sales floor. She saved me! I did make an 11th bag and gave it to her as a thank you!

I have to say, that my greatest achievement has been knowing that I have made people happy! It might sound silly, but I know for myself, when i get a pretty purse, It makes me feel warm and happy inside. I love knowing that people look at it and admire it, and I must say from all the feedback I have received from my many customers, past and present, I have done just this, made many ladies, as well as little ladies, happy with their purchases. I love what I do and it truly does show in my designs.
