One of my skills is that I have loved making the useless useful again since I was a child. Case in point, my record collection became useless to me until I created this tote design for keeping my favorite album covers from hitting the trash bin. I came up with the idea to use recycled album covers to handcraft handmade my totes. In the beginning, the laminate would separate from the album covers on top until I solved the problem and came up with another way that everything fit smoothly and looked great too.

My target audience then grew out of personal requests for the personalized totes are every woman and for the album cover totes, I would say for women who are nostalgic for the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, or the early 90’s. The funny thing is that sometimes even men stop me in public and ask about my totes.

My collection has grown as well as now I even make refrigerator magnets and key chains out of the vinyl records and add Swarovski crystals for added “bling.” Very fun! I also do personal photo-lays over the recycled album covers for a more personal touch. I love to create unique gifts by modifying elements in a clever way and watching faces light up when they see them – that is what makes it all worth it.
